What is the difference between hard and soft enamel pins?
Hard enamel is polished level with the metal lines for a smooth surface. Soft enamel sits below the raised metal, creating tactile texture and stronger relief. Both can be durable; the choice is primarily visual, tactile, and budget-driven.
What size should a custom lapel pin be?
Many wearable pins fall between roughly 0.75 and 1.5 inches, but the right size depends on lettering, artwork detail, weight, and how the pin will be used. We will recommend dimensions that keep the design readable.
Which pin attachment should I choose?
Butterfly and rubber clutches are common for lapels and hats; safety-pin backs can suit larger pieces; magnets avoid piercing fabric but require appropriate weight and placement. One or two posts may be used to prevent rotation.
Do custom pins have minimum purchase requirements?
No. Summit Emblem has no minimum purchase requirements. Pin construction, tooling, finish, and the number of versions still affect setup and unit pricing at the quantity requested.
Can custom pins include specialty finishes or packaging?
Yes. Depending on construction, options may include antique plating, black nickel, satin finishes, transparent or glitter enamel, glow effects, numbering, back stamps, backing cards, pouches, or boxes.
