Where custom patches work

Choose the construction around the purpose.

A uniform patch, event collectible, retail piece, and outdoor gear patch may begin with the same artwork but need very different materials and finishing.

01

Identity & uniforms

Logo patches, name and role identifiers, club emblems, uniform insignia, and long-running organizational designs that need consistency from one order to the next.

02

Events & recognition

Commemorative issues, milestone pieces, staff and participant versions, awards, reunions, conferences, camps, and limited collections designed for a specific moment.

03

Merchandise & fundraising

Collectible releases, branded apparel additions, trading pieces, donor items, and retail-ready patches where presentation, durability, and unit cost all matter.

Designing for production

The artwork has to work at finished size.

Strong custom patches begin with hierarchy: what must be read first, which details carry the story, and what can be simplified without losing the idea. Finished size, viewing distance, and the chosen construction determine how much detail will remain clear.

We evaluate the artwork before recommending embroidered, woven, printed, PVC, chenille, or bullion construction. The goal is not to force every design into the same method—it is to choose the material that gives the idea its best physical form.

Planning the order

Quantity flexibility, timing, pricing, and approval.

Every quote is based on the actual artwork, specification, quantity, and requested delivery plan—never a one-size-fits-all price.

No minimum purchase requirements

Summit Emblem has no minimum purchase requirements. One piece or a larger run can be quoted, while construction, setup, and unit pricing are still evaluated against the actual quantity.

Production planning

Standard turnaround is 4–6 weeks after final proof approval, with shipping added. Specialty materials, licensing, samples, capacity, and fixed event dates can change the schedule.

What affects pricing

Quantity, dimensions, construction, thread or color coverage, border, backing, specialty materials, packaging, and the number of separate designs or colorways shape the quote.

Proof and approval

The proof documents artwork, size, colors, border, backing, and other production notes. Production begins only after the final proof has been reviewed and approved in writing.

From idea to delivery

A documented proof before production.

The process can begin with finished artwork, a rough sketch, a prior item, or a written concept.

01

Share the purpose

Send the use, quantity, approximate size, need-by date, and any logo, sketch, prior patch, or inspiration you have.

02

Choose the build

We recommend the construction, edge, backing, and detail level that best balance appearance, durability, and budget.

03

Review the proof

Check spelling, dates, dimensions, layout, colors, and documented production details. Revisions are resolved before approval.

04

Approve production

The approved specification moves into production, then the finished patches are checked against the proof before shipment.

Questions before you begin

Product-specific answers.

Which type of custom patch should I choose?

Choose embroidered for classic texture, woven for fine all-thread detail, printed for photographs and gradients, PVC for flexible weather resistance, chenille for plush varsity dimension, and bullion for formal hand-finished metalwork. We can recommend the best fit from your artwork and intended use.

Do custom patches have minimum purchase requirements?

No. Summit Emblem has no minimum purchase requirements. Construction, setup, and unit pricing may still change with the size of the run, so the quote is based on the actual quantity requested.

Can patches be iron-on, sew-on, or hook-backed?

Yes. Common choices include no backing for sew-on use, heat-seal backing, pressure-sensitive adhesive, and hook or hook-and-loop systems. The garment, washing expectations, and intended permanence help determine the right option.

How long do custom patches take to produce?

Standard turnaround is 4–6 weeks after written proof approval, plus shipping. Construction, licensing, specialty materials, capacity, and the requested delivery date can change that estimate.

Do I need finished artwork before requesting a quote?

No. A logo, rough sketch, old patch, reference image, or written idea is enough to begin. We will translate the concept into production-ready artwork and provide a digital proof for review.
